  • Demonstrated success in teaching English with the ability to inspire the potential of all students.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and effectively lead staff through curriculum reform to successfully embed highquality teaching, learning and assessment practices resulting in improved student outcomes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven capacity to dynamically work as a productive member of the executive team to lead, manage, and analyse data to implement wholeschool improvement processes that support the school's strategic directions.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team, demonstrating capacity to collaboratively engage and motivate teachers to improve their practice and professional knowledge, and build a supportive culture of excellence within the team.

General Selection Criteria:

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
