About the Role

The Ground Operations Training and Development Manager is tasked with designing, implementing, and supervising training programs for all ground operations staff, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory standards and company policies. They collaborate with different departments to identify training needs, create curriculum, and conduct effective training sessions to improve operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety as a core value, striving for a zero-harm environment through active participation in safety programs.
  • Manage and oversee the Ground Operations Training team.
  • Create and deliver high-quality training material for all aspects of ground operations.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date training material, ensuring approval before use.
  • Coordinate external training courses and requirements for new airports inducted into the network.
  • Manage all company training records to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee Ground Operations training requirements and deployment of trainers.
  • Facilitate Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) training.
  • Execute projects as needed by the Head of Airport Operations.
Reporting Relationships
  • Directly report to the Head of Airport Operations.
Personal Specification
  • Minimum 5 years of mandatory airline or industry experience.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
  • Familiar with major airport operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high workloads under pressure.
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Proven team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for training delivery.
  • Possess a sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and passion for the role.
  • Take personal responsibility for outcomes.
  • Be willing to travel regularly to various ports throughout Australia.
  • Experience in report writing, record-keeping, and MS Office software.
  • Extensive knowledge of airline operations.
