Your opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Hub Crew Leader to join the Operations and Maintenance Planning, Operations Hub, Control Room Team.

The Operations and Maintenance Planning Group is accountable for the operational performance and optimisation of Urban Utilities water and wastewater networks to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is delivered. In this group, we specialise in getting things done in new and effective ways for our customers.

Based in our new Central Control Room at our head office located in Fortitude Valley, The Operations Hub Crew Leader is accountable to lead and manage their own 24/7 Operations Hub control room team, on a rotating shift roster and influence others to deliver on the day of operations activities, ensuring the real-time operational performance of 9500km water network and 9700km wastewater network to prevent service interruptions, manage operational incidents and support our field based teams in service restoration.

As a key operational leadership position, this role is required to lead, collaborate and coordinate your core team and a broad range of stakeholders, conducting timely trouble shooting and execution of multiple activities in parallel, providing exceptional network performance, safety of our staff, assets and customers, leading to positive customer experience, exceptional public health and the ongoing protection of and minimise harm of the natural environment within relevant regulatory requirements.

The incumbent will be required to work 24/7 shifts on a rostered basis

List key functions of the role:

  • Lead Day of Operations Functions across 19,200 km of assets serving 1.6 million people.
  • Using SCADA and Operational Technology to identify and prevent failures and incidents.
  • Tactical operational and incident management.
  • Building a collaborative culture with bias for action and replicable, repeatable operations.
  • Lead provision of commercial services to others.
  • Building capability in operational teams.

Panama Plus Roster Applies: 8 cycles of 4 on 4 off (11 hour day and night shifts), then 2 weeks of 8 hour shifts Mon- Fri with 1 x RDO.

About you:

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Management and Leadership of Control Rooms in similar utilities environments.
  • Leadership of monitoring and control of large, distributed asset bases through SCADA, IICATS, IoT and Advanced operational platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in fast paced operational or incident management environments.
  • Experience in contact centre, customer / community service, integrated operations centre, or commercial contracts would been seen as highly desirable.
