Bis is looking for a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our Karara team, taking charge of the workshop crew and ensuring the development, implementation, and adherence to a preventative maintenance schedule.


The position is based at the Karara site, with an 8/6 FIFO roster, reporting to the Site Manager.


We are seeking dependable individuals committed to working safely, motivated to excel, and enthusiastic about contributing to our team's achievements.


Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organize corrective and preventive maintenance tasks and priorities via work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Prepare work packages for all planned maintenance activities, including repetitive maintenance
  • Manage work orders, documentation, parts usage, and asset history within the CMMS
  • Get parts quotes, raise requisitions, and update site registers
  • Oversee spare parts and ensure alignment between the maintenance team and on-site stock
  • Create work orders for routine maintenance
  • Coordinate and document daily and weekly planning meetings for regular plant maintenance and shutdown tasks
  • Develop schedules and Gantt charts for planned shutdowns
  • Manage all plant-wide shutdown activities
  • Document and report on availability, downtime, and performance of fixed plant equipment
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers for services and schedule site works
  • Handle machinery and component repairs off-site and collaborate with relevant internal/external parties
  • Provide technical support for all on-site maintenance activities
  • Train employees on CMMS usage
About You
  • Extensive experience in fixed plant maintenance and repair
  • Current mechanical knowledge of fixed plant equipment, particularly conveyor belt systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people in a maintenance setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in CMMS utilization
  • Familiar with WH&S regulations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to minimize equipment downtime
  • Considerable experience with JD Edwards and MS Project is a plus
  • Positive, proactive safety approach
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and customer service commitment
