About the role

  • The Quality Team is expanding in response to increased production quantities and product complexity. DroneShield is looking to recruit QA Technician who will work with the team to ensure DroneShield products are built to a high standard and components received from our suppliers are consistent in quality and performance.
  • The position will report primarily to the Quality Manager and will work closely with the Production Team, Operations Team, and the Procurement Team. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fastmoving ASX listed defence technology company.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

  • Conduct Incoming Quality Checks as per the IQC Criteria setup by DroneShield
  • Review Supplier Quality reports
  • Record the IQC results in ERP(Odoo) corresponding to each quality check points
  • Prepare IQC report after inspection
  • Move failed parts to Quarantine area physically and in Odoo
  • Raise Quality Alerts/NCRs for the failed parts
  • Conduct Quarantine review meetings
  • Conduct Outgoing Quality checks on DroneShield products
  • Report issues identified at incoming and outgoing QC to Quality Manager/QA Officer

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Experience in a production environment
  • Experience with inspection equipment/CMM required
  • Experience with Odoo or similar ERP system preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with RF equipment and electronics preferred but not necessary
  • Passionate about technology and ability to understand complex technical problems so issues can be properly communicated to stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a fastpaced team
  • Respect and appreciation of process, doing the right thing even if noone is watching
  • Strong ability to multitask, meet deadlines and handle pressure
- "Can do" attitude and willingness to help in variety of tasks, including occasional tasks unrelated to the core role
