The Role:
We currently have a new vacancy available for a Carpenter/Handyperson who will be responsible for minor maintenance and building works. You will work across Sydney Water sites & assets delivering both reactive and preventative maintenance repairs under direction from your Supervisor.
Responsibilities will include:-
- Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a number of Sydney Water facilities
- Carry out general repairs such as broken fixtures, damaged doors, basic painting, carpentry, tiling repairs and general building maintenance
- Prioritise and attend to urgent requests
- Perform pre-start inspections and keep audit reports
- Assist the wider trade team with two-person works, spotting and general assistance
- Assist Supervisors and Coordinators with guiding subcontractors onsite, scoping works and providing feedback
What you will need:
- Construction White card
- Manual Drivers licence
- Proven track record in maintenance, ideally within a facilities environment
- 4+ years experience
- Flexible approach and a positive attitude
- Excellent Customer Service & Communication Skills
- A team player but also able to work autonomously
- Be willing to partake in our on-boarding process which includes pre-employment medicals, reference and qualification checks, online inductions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal direct supervision
- Dedication to safety and safe work practices
