Multiplex Perth are actively looking for a Design Coordinator who is looking to further develop their skills across all stages of the full project lifecycle.

The Design Coordinator is key integral part of our Design Team.

In this role you will be responsible for coordinating the design development and documentation delivery for all design aspects to assist The Design Team to fulfil their obligations in complying with project requirements, codes and standards, programme and budget.

The Design Coordinator must consult the Multiplex Project Team to capture considerations of buildability, design efficiency, and cost effectiveness to provide "best for project" outcomes.

They are also responsible for liaising with the consultants, subcontractors and MPX Project Team as appropriate and implementing and capturing these interactions within the design documents.

Key Accountabilities:

• Coordinate the delivery of a cost effective design
• Monitor the Value Management initiatives within the contract and identify any new Value Management opportunities
• Facilitate the Value Management Process and assist in collating all relevant supporting data to assist the Project Team convert new opportunities
• Contribute to the Design Change Management process to identify scope growth and design change. Collaborate with Contract Administrator to ensure appropriate notice are issued to Client in timely manner
• Identify and engage with mentors with the view to progressing career development.
• Understand the Multiplex project objectives and performance criteria. Discuss and relate how each of the design team are integral in achieving these objectives and criteria
• Outperform by setting objectives, communicating them and holding people accountable
• Identify where design staff / design team are not meeting expectations
• Understand the site specific management plans as they relate to design (e.g. Design Management Plan, Document / Information Management Plan, Aconex Management Plan etc.)

Key Skillset Required:

• Solid and proven industry experience in environmental management on construction, civil and road construction or other equivalent works
• Tertiary qualification, Bachelor's degree
• Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Building or similar
• Knowledge of applicable legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and other relevant documentation
• Knowledge of other building professional and their functions / relationship to design Knowledge of design principles and documentation delivery
