About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide active assistance to individuals living with disabilities on the Central Coast. The Lifestyle Program includes 2 Day Programs and community support, offering a range of short and long shifts on a casual basis. These services are tailored to each client's interests and capabilities, often involving social outings and recreational activities. The Day Program runs from Monday to Friday, while the Community program is available 7 days a week. Your dedication and reliability are crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients with personal care, manual handling, behavior support for challenging behaviors, and high medical needs
  • Assist clients in achieving their goals through meaningful activities
  • Exercise good judgment with minimal supervision to ensure client well-being
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Advocate for client autonomy in a safe and compliant manner
  • Complete administrative tasks including progress notes
  • Ability to travel within the Central Coast region to support participants

Skills & Experience

  • Hold an unrestricted New South Wales driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Capable of driving a 10-seater van for client transportation
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including public holidays
  • Proficiency in basic technology usage on mobile and desktop devices
  • Possess a current First Aid Certificate with HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will undergo various probity checks, including National Criminal History Record and NDIS Worker Screening checks.
