An opportunity exists for a Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary to join the Mareeba State High School team.
This is a temporary position commencing 08 July 2024 until 13 December 2024 unless otherwise determined.

About Mareeba State High School

An opportunity exists for a dedicated and innovative leader to lead Junior Secondary Phase of learning at Mareeba State High School.

Mareeba State High School is set in the picturesque rural town of Mareeba.

Catering to approximately 800 students from Years 7 to 12, we are proud of our academic standards, community cultural richness, sporting champions, and creative brilliance.

Our size means we can offer a personal and individual approach to all students, supporting them in achieving their goals by providing opportunities to extend learning and be challenged.

We do this by implementing several innovative practices and programs, including the Rugby League Engagement program.
We are able to provide subsidised accommodation in the local Mareeba area for the successful applicant.

As the Deputy Principal you will:
Improve the educational outcomes of students in their schools.
Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.
The Deputy Principal reports to the school Principal.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

Deputise for the Principal when required.
Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
