Ryan's Quality Meats is a second generation family butcher and foodservice business.

With a proud history which spans over 50 years, Ryan's Quality Meats specialises in supplying beef, lamb, pork, poultry and value-add gourmet products to the wholesale, retail and foodservice sectors.

Operating out of two locations, Jandakot and Bunbury, Ryan's Quality Meats is in need for a Financial Controller.

About the roleWorking with a small team, the Financial Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the company's financial responsibilities.

The Financial Controller is an integral part of the senior management of the RQM business.

The role is to help facilitate transformational change across systems, structure, capability and culture, by providing consistent leadership and direction, and introducing enhanced rigor around finance, systems, processes and analysis.

The Financial Controller should be an experienced finance leader with exceptional technical skills, who can provide strategic direction whilst also being hands-on.

Duties include:

Develop sound and practical financial strategies to support the growth of RQMManage all aspects of the accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning, as well as cash and treasury, and cost reporting and analysisProviding leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting teamProviding strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the BoardManaging the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reportingAdvising on long-term business and financial planningEstablishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholdersEnsure robust risk mitigation policies and procedures are in place to ensure effective management and control in all finance areasProvide advice and counsel to the CEO in relation to financial performance, budgeting, financial position and future cash flow requirements;Develop effective financial models for budgeting purposes to support planning and performance initiatives;Develop effective strategies to ensure RQM has systems that capture, record and systemise financial information in an effective, efficient and fit-for-purpose manner across all business units.

Skills and experienceQualified CPA or CA within AustraliaMinimum of 5 Years' Experience as a Financial Controller of similar size or larger businessAbility to think strategically and grow the businessAbility to partner with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to drive and implement changeStrong experience in financial and management accounting (manufacturing experience preferred)Proactive and demonstrate high initiativeAbility to work in and around deadlines, workloads and conflicting prioritiesHigh level of communicationHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systemsThe successful candidate will be provided with training and support as well as a long term career opportunity.
