The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider, regulator and central agency of government. DCS is undertaking an ambitious digital transformation of government services, underpinned by its Digital Government Strategy.


Government Technology Platforms (GTP) enables NSW government through the provision of core and common digital capability including cross sector leadership and delivery of ICT infrastructure and digital services aligned to the NSW Government ICT Strategy; Beyond Digital.

This newly created role will provide administration, reporting, and communication support to the Information Security team.

It would be ideal for someone starting out on their Information Security journey, as it will provide exposure to several different areas.

We're looking for a strong communicator who wants to learn.


On a day-to-day basis you will be part of the Information Security team that supports GTP to deliver safe and secure solutions.

This includes engaging and working with GTP colleagues and also stakeholders across government.


The Information Security team is responsible for the Information Security Management System (ISMS), Risk Management, Solution Assessment and Security Awareness within GTP.


Key responsibilities

  • General reporting and creation of agendas & minutes for regular Information Security forums.
  • Assisting with administrative management of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Following up stakeholders across GTP regarding outstanding items, such as missing form data.
  • Assisting with the delivery of initiatives and projects as required.
  • Assistance with the creation of documentation and internal communications.
  • General support to all other members of the Information Security team.
  • Ensuring that the team's shared inbox is monitored and requests for advice or support are allocated to the relevant team member.

About you

  • You will be a customer focused individual with excellent communication and organisational capabilities.
  • Have a strong interest in Information Security. Any existing knowledge and/or experience in Information Security or a related field, whether it be formal or informal, would be viewed as advantageous.
  • Enjoy learning. This role will provide exposure to all services delivered by the Information Security team. You will often be outside of your comfort zone. Information
  • Security is a very broad space and it's not expected that you will know all the answers, however you will have the support of the team to provide guidance.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Are an excellent organiser and administrator, able to work within set guidelines, meet deadlines, establish priorities and be an effective member of a team. Administrative activities are a large part of this role.
  • Maintain a positive 'can do' attitude and can work in a very agile, fastpaced, and collaborative environment.
