About the role:


We are currently seeking a Dock Supervisor to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in Perth, reporting to the Dock Manager.

Working as part of the Centurion Transport Operations Team, you will be responsible for managing the overall loading of freight in the dock area, and ensure Freight Officers adhere to Centurion's safety culture.

This role is the deputy to the general freight manager in the event of absence.

Duties:

  • Effective supervision of direct reports.
  • Ensure all direct reports adhere to the company's fatigue requirements.
  • Hazards are reported and monitored appropriately.
  • Centurion equipment is checked and maintained appropriately.
  • Check all freight is correctly receipted and scanned, and placed into the correct loading bays.
  • Verify consignment notes are completed correctly.
  • Ensure freight is checked IAW the consignment note and marked with the consignment note number.
  • Load Plans are completed for all trailers.
  • Making sure freight is protected from the elements and theft where appropriate.
  • Trailer utilization is to a maximum.
  • Load Restraint is adhered to accordance with current legislation.
  • Dangerous goods and freight consignments are handled appropriate.
  • Goods loaded have been checked against the paperwork and the paperwork is loaded to that trailer.
  • Making sure all staff are crosstrained to enable them to assist in all aspects of dock operations.
  • Loading is completed to meet appropriate departure times.
  • All anomalies are reported as soon as possible to applicable staff.
  • Ensure all scheduled activities are conducted to assist in maintenance of Quality & HACCP accreditations.

  • Good planning skills
