As a 1st year apprentice, you spend each day learning different skill sets that will help expand your knowledge and assist in growing your career.


This opportunity will see you become a skilled, qualified, and in-demand mechanic within the automotive industry by receiving hands-on experience and training under the guidance of passionate and qualified Automotive professionals.


About the Role


A Light Vehicle Apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to build your practical and theoretical knowledge of cars across 4 years through on-the-job training and theory studies at TAFE.


What Will You Learn in your 1st year?

  • Minor servicing of light vehicles
  • Remove and replace broken or defective vehicle parts
  • Test electrical systems and diagnose issues
  • Assist and observe mechanics
  • It is not all the fun stuff. You will also be; keeping work areas clean and tidy, moving and delivering cars, detailing vehicles.
  • Operate automotive test equipment
  • Follow safe working practices
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment
  • Identify automotive electrical systems, components, and more.
  • Learn about new and emerging automotive technology.

Complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology:

What Are We Looking For?

  • Commitment to a 4 year apprenticeship, including theory studies.
  • Strong sense of selfmotivation, enthusiasm and 'can do' attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Professional presentation at all times.
  • Honest, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Valid Manual Driver's License
  • Automotive preapprenticeship or prior experience is _beneficial but not essential_.
