The Business Development Manager (Finance - RR) is a key position responsible for the provision of commercial insight to the State, driving competitive advantage and business growth for Resource Recovery assets such as Landfill, Organics, Mechanical processing and Transfer Station business lines.

What you'll be responsible for
  • Building relationships and partnering with various lines of business, corporate teams, clients, external advisors and suppliers
  • Build and maintain detailed financial forecast models incorporating revenue projections, operating costs, capital expenditures, financing activities, and other key drivers
  • Construct scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the financial impact of changes in key assumptions
  • Collaborate with operational managers to gather data inputs and understand operational drivers
  • Prepare presentations and reports communicating findings from financial models to senior management
  • Prepare contract and tender reviews working closely with stakeholders including State GM and State SM to complete relevant tenders, ensuring, and being responsible for accurate financial assumptions
  • Drive business growth through working with operational teams on business development opportunities and supporting the commercialization of these
  • Review, endorse and report on capital business cases and investment orders
  • Comply with Veolia ANZ governance and procedure including Investment Committee procedure and Schedule of Delegation of Authority
  • Supporting the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes in close collaboration with the business and FP&A
  • Comply with all relevant timetables, guidelines and internal controls
What you'll need to be successful
  • Degree or qualification in finance, economics, accounting or business, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including IFRS
  • High financial acumen with ability to act as an effective business partner to financial and operational staff
  • Relevant experience in financial analysis to identify trends and issues
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Advanced Excel and G-suite skills.
