About your new role


Your role has the primary responsibility for undertaking service, calibration, fault finding, repair and installation to a wide range of instrumentation monitoring and process control equipment.

This includes electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and chemical based Instrumentation at Water and Wastewater treatment plants, storage dams, reservoirs, pumping stations and associated network facilities operated by Icon Water in the ACT and surrounding region.


  • Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Effectively undertake scheduled preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance tasks.
  • Plan and coordinate task completion using available resources and working within operational & procedural constraints and systems availability.
  • Complete required documentation and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to identify and recommend improvements to maintenance efficiency.
  • Participate in an emergency oncall roster as required to provide a 24 hour, 7 day a week breakdown and maintenance service.
  • Ability to identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and perform work in accordance with implemented safe work practices and procedures.
  • Possess an Instrumentation & Control Trade Certificate and possess or be eligible to obtain an ACT and NSW Restricted Electrical Licence for Disconnect-Reconnect; or
  • Possess an Electrical Trades Certificate with relevant posttrades qualifications and experience in Industrial Instrumentation & Control. Possess or be eligible to obtain an ACT and NSW Class 'A' Electrical Licence.
  • Possess relevant experience in field and workshop maintenance and calibration of industrial instrumentation & control systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of industrial, electrical, instrumentation and PLC control systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of preventative maintenance and quality assurance systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer based systems including Asset Management and Maintenance systems.
  • Hold a current Australian driver license.
  • Possess or be prepared to obtain and maintain the following qualifications/certifications:
  • NSW Construction Induction
  • Electrical Rescue
  • First Aid / CPR
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Work at Heights
  • Elevated Work Platform
  • Work in Hazardous Areas (Electrical)
