About the Opportunity
At Melbourne City Mission, we focus on empowering individuals to lead their lives and be active members of the community. Our services cover areas such as Children, Youth, Adult and Family support, Disability services, Employment and Training, Homelessness aid, Justice programs, and Palliative Care.
Hartnett House Children's Centre caters to 126 children daily, providing top-quality care for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years old. Through the Melbourne City Mission, we offer not only childcare but a range of additional community services. Our goal is to prioritize children's needs and treat them as capable, respected individuals.
The Co-educator role involves aiding in the delivery of high-quality early childhood education programs, fostering partnerships with families, professionals, and the local community.
About you
We are seeking an individual who can:
- Assist in creating and implementing engaging educational programs tailored to children
- Support children's learning, development, and well-being
- Foster positive relationships and effective communication between families and the Early Learning Centre
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay informed about developments in early childhood services
- Adhere to professional standards, legislative requirements, and Melbourne City Mission's policies and procedures

Essential:
- Diploma of Children's Service or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification
- Ability to engage with and support children in an educational setting
- Contribution to children's learning and development planning
- Awareness of cultural family needs
- Capacity to respond to children at risk and maintain information confidentiality
- Team collaboration skills
- Organizational skills and task prioritization abilities
- Interaction capability with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge and adherence to Child Safe Standards
- Completion of mandatory Melbourne City Mission training
- Physical fitness for job requirements
- Required Certificates: Certified Supervisors Certificate, Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis Training, Asthma Training

- National Police check
- Working with Children check or ability to obtain
- Valid Victorian Drivers license
- Right to Work in Australia
