Clinical Nurse Consultant - Digital Support Clinical Informatics (DSCI)


The purpose of this role is to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to effective digital business and clinical practices for the delivery of Clinical Informatics.

This role will provide support and system administration functions across multiple clinical applications including ieMR, Q-Flow, Trendcare and Patient Flow Manager.

You will develop responses to address emerging service needs in relation to facility and site based clinical informatics teams and stakeholders.

Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health.

It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North.

In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North.

Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.

Key knowledge and experienceThe ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

Ability to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.

Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

Advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills in clinical informatics support and system administration functions where applicable, across multiple clinical applications including ieMR, Q-Flow, Trendcare and Patient Flow Manager.

Critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem solving skills and expert clinical judgement in relation to clinical informatics.

Responsibility for the professional development of self and others utilising contemporary practice in the delivery of improved standards of care.
