The Role:


To be based in O'Connor, Perth, WA reporting to the VA Service Team Leader, the Field Service Technician's role includes conducting works on machine installations, maintenance servicing and carrying out repairs to equipment in a timely and professional manner.

Further to this, other key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • To provide and carry out service and repair work on Visy Automation equipment and equipment of other suppliers and /or customers.
  • Make efficiency and maintenance modification recommendations pre and post installation (or as required) to continually improve on reliability and performance of Visy Automation equipment.
  • To provide after sales support in respect of machine maintenance requirements, and quality issues as and when they arise.
  • To provide detailed and itemised reports of all service, installation, and breakdown calls. Being mindful that cost recovery profitability and KPI base performance ratings are based on the accuracy of all reports.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed to support customer requirements and demands.
  • To ensure that all legislative safety requirements are met to Australian Standards (& NZ Standards where applicable)
  • Develop close working relationships with the Customers, Account Managers, Suppliers, Automation staff and other Visy personnel to enable a fully supportive network that will deliver the best results & generate an ongoing business pipeline.
  • Always ensure compliance to Visy and any customer sites OHSE rules and legislation.

What will you bring to the team:

  • _Mechanical/Electrical or Dual Trade_ Certificate
  • Mechanical/Electrical or Dual Trade background with minimum 5+ years' (post trade) experience in the Manufacturing or similar Industry.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills & highly demonstrated numerical and verbal reasoning
  • Drive tenacity, innovation(creative) and "can do' attitude
  • Proven service experience in a similar role
  • Servo driven machinery experience
  • Proficient in welding and thermal works
  • Machinery workshop experience on lathes, mills
  • Ability to solve mechanical issues
  • Thrives in a diverse, dynamic and fast paced work environment
  • Team orientated
