Motor Mechanic

ASP Rubber Industries a well established automotive business providing general automotive services and specializing in differentials, suspensions and engine mount bushes and bushing services is looking to employ a full time Trade qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to work in their workshop located in Somerton VIC to service and repair motor vehicles.

Salary $73,150 + Superannuation benefits

To be considered for this role you must have;

· Australian Trade Qualification in Automotive Technology.

· 3+ years of experience as a Motor Mechanic in a busy Australian workshop.

· Experience in differentials, suspensions and engine mounts will be a definite advantage.

· Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen

Duties involved are;

1. Discuss problems with car drivers or vehicle operators to discover faults​.

2. Listen to engines, fit and operate special test equipment, and test drive vehicles.

3. Repair and/or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions or steering gear; dismantling them and checking parts, referring to manuals as necessary.

4. Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assem blies, using various instruments to make sure that they are working properly and putting them back into the vehicle.

5. Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments (to carburettors for eg) for smoother tunning.

6. Repair or replace front and rear differentials bushes, suspensions bushes as well as all engine mount bushes either onsite or offsite.

7. Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs.

8. Test and repair electric systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection.

9. Ability to work in a COVID safe environment.
