About the Office the Advocate Children and Young People (ACYP)
The Advocate works to improve the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children and young people in NSW.

The Office of the Advocate speaks up for children and young people to ensure that their rights are respected, and their points of view heard by adult decision makers.

The Office of the Advocate engages with the children and young people of NSW and listen to their feedback and input.


Your role
We are on the search for a talented communications all-rounder. This is a hands-on role, owning and managing a range of communication and media channels.


As a Communications Officer you will produce or facilitate the production of stakeholder communications content across a variety of formats to deliver ACYP's marketing and communications strategy and to promote the priorities of the agency to improve the lives of children and young people in NSW.

What you'll do
As part of the ACYP team you will

  • Draft multiplatform communications content and materials to provide quality, accurate and relevant information to a range of key stakeholders including children and young people, government organisations, nongovernment organisations and media.
  • Undertake a range of communications activities to support ACYP priorities and to communicate key messages relating to children and young people in NSW.
  • Provide coordination, logístical, tracking and reporting services for communications projects to enable the efficient and effective communication of developments and information to the community.
  • Undertake research to provide input to the development of communications programs and materials.

***You will have the ability to: - Support the delivery of a range of communications initiatives of varying size to contribute to their being delivered on time and on budget.

  • Deliver tailored communications to suit a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Provide a wide range of services to the team in an environment of changing priorities and where projects may involve a complicated project delivery schedule.
