About the role:


The City of Canning have a unique opportunity to join the Parks & Environment team as a Playground Maintainer Your responsibilities will involve inspecting and maintaining various park facilities, including playground equipment, fencing, furniture, signage, and related infrastructure.

Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, you will be instrumental in creating a positive experience for park and playground visitors and contributing to the overall aesthetics and safety of our public spaces.


_ A snapshot of your new role:_

  • Perform regular inspections of playground equipment, park furniture, fencing, and signage to identify and address any issues promptly
  • Identify and complete necessary repairs to play equipment and park furniture
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and producing reports for the Supervisor
  • Order and receive delivery of replacement parts, equipment and materials
  • Monitor and report any safety hazards or potential risks

Who we're looking for:

  • Proven ability to repair metal and timber structures using electrical hand tools and components
  • Knowledge of safety issues relevant to playground maintenance
  • High level of initiative and ability to make decisions and resolve issues
  • Ability to use electronic devices (tablets) and undertake simple data entry/completion of forms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Qualification in playground maintenance (or working towards) will be highly regarded
  • Provide First Aid Certificate and current 'C' class driver's licence
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)
