Oasis cafes are training cafes that provide valuable vocational training and employment pathways for young people.

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Chef to operate the Oasis cafe and provide training and supervision to students and volunteers.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this is permanent, full-time position based in Wyong, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Labour Market Assistance Industry Award.

• Operate a commercial kitchen and provide support to the overall day-to-day operations of the cafe, working alongside the cafe team.
• Meet industry legislation and standards for hygiene and cleaning requirements of people, facilities, and equipment.
• Plan and deliver vocational training courses, training plans and schedules, including the delivery of classroom-based and practical on-the-job training during cafe operations.
• Supervise students and volunteers.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and reflective practice in all work, documentation, and supervision.
• Adhere to mandatory reporting legislation and guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and build positive partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with co-workers, other Oasis programs and external agencies.

• Industry experience in the hospitality sector.
• Commercial Cookery or Hospitality qualification.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• A valid Employee NSW Working With Children's Check
• Current NSW Driver's Licence.
• Experience supervising trainees or students.
• Experience as a vocational trainer (desirable).
