The Position
The unaccredited registrars will have considerable opportunities for operating theatre exposure either as primary operator or first assistant. There will be rostered elective operating theatre exposure built into the roster.

The general surgical units are staffed by 5 accredited surgical trainees, 5 non-accredited registrars and dedicated junior doctors.

The non-accredited registrars will primarily work as a support role to the assigned teams, participate in the evening and weekend roster, as well as providing night cover.

There is a well-established registrar teaching program. Exposure to medical students and junior medical staff will provide opportunities to develop teaching skills.

There are opportunities to participate in surgical mentorship program for development in non-clinical core skill, such as teaching, research, preparation of GSSE.
