A full-time opportunity is open with Blue Dog Training, an award-winning Australian training provider in Construction and Engineering.

For an experienced VETiS Trainer (Cert IV TAE) OR a skilled tradesperson (engineering / mechanical / construction) looking for a change.

As a Vocational Trainer, you will be based from home and travel to schools in the Mackay Region to provide learning experiences to secondary school students studying trade-based qualifications.

You will join a team of successful trainers sharing their skills with the next generation with ongoing training, mentoring, and support.

Duties include:

  • Organizing and delivering training and assessments.
  • Inducting students and school representatives.
  • Liaising with school teachers, principals, students, government bodies, and industry associations.
  • Responding to questions, providing coaching/support.
  • Working as part of a team to enhance training resources.
  • Other training, assessment, and administration tasks.

This role requires an engaging communicator that is keen to support students. Requirements:

  • Eligibility to obtain a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card P).
  • Experience or qualification in construction or metal-based trades.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or interest in completing this qualification).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence using computers.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Commitment to professional development.
