About the role

A newly created Internal Communications / Content role has become available within our Communications team here at AGL.


You will play an important role in supporting employee communications for AGL's operational business (Integrated Energy) as well as corporate functions such as Technology and Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSE), ultimately enhancing employee engagement.


  • This is a full time or part time (4 days a week) position, based in either Melbourne or Adelaide (Torrens Island)._
What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications you will:

  • Act as a corporate 'journalist', identifying, researching and drafting engaging stories for a range of formats, including intranet stories, newsletters and social media.
  • Develop engaging internal communication campaign assets to help connect employees to our strategic priorities, with crisp engaging copy and sharp graphic design.
  • Develop copy and visual communication in support of thematic employee campaigns, aligning with AGL brand guide.
  • Coordinate with communications and business partner stakeholders around scheduling of content.
  • Develop engaging, nuanced written and visual communication materials for diverse audiences, including leader briefing packs, fact sheets and digital posters
  • Use direct mail and other platforms to analyse and report on the effectiveness of content. Use this analysis to draw insights and inform future content.
About you

What you'll bring to the table

  • Proven experience in corporate communications, in an inhouse or agency role.
  • Experience developing and implementing internal communication plans, with sound stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience developing content
- graphic design for digital and non-digital environments.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite as well as superior Microsoft PowerPoint and Word skills.
  • Ability to distil complex concepts into simple, accessible language.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and effectively manage time and prioritise workload.
