Coomera, Queensland, Australia UFS - Mental Health & Disability Support Full time

About Us

UFS - Mental Health & Disability Support is a small, independently owned Disability and Mental Health support service provider based in Brisbane.

UFS - Mental Health & Disability Support is operated by 2 sisters with both learned and personal lived experience in mental health and disability.

We service from the Gold Coast to Sunshine Coast and everywhere in between.

We are rapidly growing, and we are looking to add to our amazing team of fun, caring, skilled and motivated people to provide the highest standard of support and guidance.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of service in order for our participants to achieve their goals and live their best possible life.

We use a holistic and person-centered approach to care and do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach as each person is unique.

We pride ourselves on also ensuring that our team is cared for both physically and mentally with ongoing support, training, and access to various services.

Immediate start available with ongoing training and support.

UFS - Mental Health & Disability Support has casual and part-time positions available for Disability and Mental Health Support workers in locations throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas such as Shailer Park, Daisy Hill, Cornubia, Hollywell, Albany Creek, Springfield Lakes and Mango Hill.

Your responsibilities will include ability to access our app for clocking in and out of shifts, in-home support, light house duties, community access, transportation, documentation, and ensuring that the highest standard of care is provided to the people we support.

Days and hours are flexible. If additional skills are required, you will be supported to obtain these if necessary.

About The Role

The available positions are suitable for experienced support workers, students who are studying, people looking to enter the sector and learn new skills.

Pay is negotiable depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and training. Ongoing support and training are provided.

We are seeking energetic and motivated people in various locations throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas. Formal and personal lived experience with disability and mental health is highly regarded.

Being motivated, encouraging, compassionate, fun, and eager to learn is essential.

We hire on a best match basis, which means you won't be allocated to work with anyone without having a supported meet and greet, training and as many buddy shifts as required.

This ensures that it is the best and most suitable match for both the participant and the team member.

About You
Knowledge, understanding and a willingness to learn about various conditions such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and disability is essential. Having a passion and eagerness for what you do speaks louder than qualifications. Personal, lived experience with disability and mental health is highly regarded. Being fun, motivated, caring, encouraging and a willingness to learn is key.

Essential requirements

Before you can begin work you are required to have: Valid and up to date Blue Card, Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening card, first Aid and CPR, driver's license, and vehicle with full comprehensive insurance.

If you do not hold a Blue Card and/or Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening Card, we are happy to assist you in obtaining them.

What We Offer

UFS - Mental Health & Disability Support prides itself on being extremely hands on and supportive not only to our participants, but also our team.

We offer ongoing support and training where needed, regular communication to provide feedback, buddy shifts, a real team spirit and sense of belonging.

You will be reimbursed for km's, paid over-time and penalty rates as well as superannuation. Pay is completed on a weekly basis and km's are to be submitted each Sunday.

We have an amazing rostering and communications app which makes completing shifts and keeping up to date with shifts, news, and communications extremely easy.
