Raytheon Australia works closely with the Australian Defence Force as its trusted capability partner to deliver some of the most complex and ground-breaking engineering and technology projects in the country.


Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking bright and energised Support Manager to join our naval sustainment team, based out of Garden Island, NSW.

In 2020 and 2021 two Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) vessels, HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart, were introduced into service and homeported at Garden Island, NSW and HMAS Stirling, WA.

As the AOR Communication System Support Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of the assigned Communication System sustainment activities for these vessels.


This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, acting as the main point of contact for all AOR Communication System support aspects including liaison, coordination, and relationship management within the AOR Systems Program Office (AORSPO) and other associated parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planning & coordination of AOR Communication System support requirements & resources to meet the AOR support objectives.
  • Progress and status reporting to meet AORSPO customer and Raytheon requirements.
  • Coordination of program Task Priced, Survey & Quote, and Adhoc activities in response to customer requests.
  • Manage the AOR risk, budget development, schedule, and program reporting (Estimates at Completion (EACs) and Program Management Reviews (PMRs) in accordance with Raytheon approved processes.
  • Establishment of support requirements with support agencies (internal Raytheon Australia and external vendors).
  • Manage and coordinate external resources (vendors and support agencies).
  • Oversee Communication System sustainment resource planning and coordination to ensure authorised personnel are available.
  • Ensure maintenance activities outsourced to other maintenance organisations within the Maintenance Support Network meet the requirements of the Maintenance Management Plan (or applicable) and applicable technical regulatory requirements.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Electrical, Electronic Engineering (or equivalent discipline), Business or Project Management, or relevant experience.
  • At least three (3) years prior relevant experience in a same or similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to establish strong working relationships and build customer rapport to influence stakeholders for the best program outcomes.
  • Practical knowledge of leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within a job area.
  • Experience in the maintenance management of complex military systems.
  • Prior experience working at a management / team lead level within an Integrated Team project environment.
