Library Assistant - Collection Services:

Salary:
$30 - $35 per hour (pro rata) plus 11% Super

This is an
ongoing,
part-time position working
21 hours per week. This position is located at the
Nowra Library. This position will work Wednesday 11 am - 7 pm and Thursday, Friday 9 am - 5 pm.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Collection & Resources Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Work as part of the Collection Services team assisting with ordering, accessioning, processing, and deselecting of library stock for the South Coast Co-Operative Library Service.
  • Perform regular circulation desk shift work, as required.
  • Assist Children's and Youth Services Coordinator with children's events and activities as required.
  • Ensures that all communication provided is correct, factual, timely, customerfocused and in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements and Council procedures.
  • Ensures the Supervisor or Coordinator is aware of difficult/sensitive issues which arise

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • Current NSW Working with Children's Check
  • This position is a designated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander position validated proof of aboriginality must be sighted / provided.
  • Demonstrated strong connection to the Aboriginal communities within the Shoalhaven Local Government Area

This is an
ongoing,
part-time position working
14 hours per week. This position is located at the
Nowra Library. This position will work Monday 11 am - 7 pm and Tuesday 9 am to 5 pm

Duties
Reporting directly to the Outreach & Digital Services Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Promote library services, resources, and events to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community through but not limited to school and community visits, technology access, library tours and cultural awareness expos such as NAIDOC week.
  • Perform regular circulation desk shift work, as required.
  • Assist staff with events and activities
  • Ensures that all communication provided is correct, factual, timely, customerfocused and in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements and Council procedures.
  • Ensures the Supervisor or Coordinator is aware of difficult/sensitive issues which arise

  • Shares information within the work group to ensure others are kept informed of issues.

Skills & Experience
