Mission Australia is excited to be a part of the new Head to Health Program in the Murrumbidgee region.

The Head to Health center aims to offer a warm and inviting experience for adults and their families facing mental health challenges, distress, or crisis. It provides mental health care or assists in finding suitable support services tailored to individual needs.

Family Support Workers play a crucial role at Head to Health, offering comprehensive support to families, aiding in parenting skill development, and fostering connections with schools, service systems, and community supports.

While this position is not specified, we strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with families at risk through collaboration with Head to Health.
  • Provide holistic case management to families with children, focusing on parental vulnerability.
  • Support parents in implementing strategies and acquiring necessary skills and resources.
  • Coordinate parenting groups and ensure access to quality children's services.
  • Offer on-call services as required for the program.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of client services and maintain up-to-date client files.
  • Adhere to program guidelines in conjunction with Mission Australia and Head to Health.

Requirements for Success:

  • Hold relevant Diploma qualifications or higher in Community Services, Mental Health, AOD, or possess relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrate experience in case management, living skills delivery, and/or parenting programs.
  • Have knowledge of challenges faced by vulnerable families and their children.
  • Possess a current NSW Driver's License.

Prior to commencement, a national police history check, qualifications verification, and referee checks are required, along with clearance to work with children/vulnerable individuals.
