A little about the role


You are a NAATI certified interpreter proficient in interpreting the Arabic language to English and vice-versa, a pivotal role that enables non-English speaking clients to access our services.

You will also be responsible to provide administration support to book the clients for their appointments (clinicians and practitioners) across the Organisation.


Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting interpreting in a professional manner to the accredited NAATI standards
  • Facilitating client access to service delivery such as confirming appointments
  • Administrative support for bookings will be required for the coordination and management support for the language services operations (Bookings) when you are not interpreting. Demonstrated flexibility to support client preferences for interpreting settings (face to face, telehealth)
  • Liaison with a broad range of clinical and nonclinical stakeholders

About you
With prior experience interpreting and administration in a community health setting, you will also come with:

  • Current
    NAATI Certification
    in the Arabic Language at the level of Certified Interpreter
  • Understanding of and commitment to the AUSIT Code of Conduct
  • Understanding of Administration function and proficient in using
    MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word) including MS Teams:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build client rapport and a culture of trust
  • A clientfocused attitude and a commitment that your interpreting enhances the ability for clients to aspire to better health outcomes
