Snowy Valleys Council (SVC) is nestled in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains NSW, bordered by the Kosciuszko National Park and Murray River.
The Opportunity
As IT Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the community by ensuring the efficient and secure functioning of our technology infrastructure.
Your role will involve leading our IT department and implementing strategic initiatives to support our council's goals.
The IT team structure consists of the IT Manager, Coordinator Technology Services, IT Technical Support Officer and an IT Support Officer.
Key Accountabilities:
- Managing IT staff (3), this includes training, motivating, professional development, performance management and hiring if needed.
- Review the current ICT Strategic Plan and update the plan where necessary.
- Review Cyber Security Strategy to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data.
- Manage internal communications and training around upcoming changes to IT and IT security.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of IT services and support.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for their integration.

The salary range is between $131,000 to $139,00 + super. A leaseback vehicle is also available with this role. The leaseback fee is currently $171.96 per fortnight, which covers all private use, including fuel and maintenance costs.A flexible work arrangement is available.
About You
To be considered, you will have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in supervising or managing IT staff and operations.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Government experience is preferred but not mandatory.
