This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

We are currently seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our supportive Consultation and Assessment Team in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS),Working Thursday's and Friday's in the Gateway Centre, Gosford.


About You

  • You have a degree or qualification in either Nursing or Psychology or Occupational Therapy or Social Work or Social Science and APHRA registered where applicable
  • You have a current NSW drivers licence
  • You have experience working within a crisis intervention model of care
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of children, young people and their families aged between 5 to 18 years.

What you'll be doing

  • To provide a professional clinical service as a Social Worker, Psychologist, Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist to young people and their families.
  • The position sits within the Consultation and Assessment Team of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The service provides consultation and mental health assessments in an assertive outreach capacity, specifically young people aged Under 18 years old experiencing moderate to severe mental health problems/disorders.
  • To undertake assessments of children, young people and their families with a range of mental health problems and disorders.
  • To ensure families and carers have input into assessments, care plans and reviews where appropriate.
  • The position provides liaison and consultation to services within the CCLHD providing expert knowledge in Youth Mental Health.
  • Clinical interventions incorporate evidence
- based practice with a focus on early intervention, recovery and family engagement and support.

As a Mental Health Clinician on the Consultation and Assessment Team you will be located in the Gosford Gateway Centre, working in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) department.
