Senior Legal Counsel (Employment)

  • 2 Year FTC

A reputable Australian company is looking for a skilled attorney to join their in-house legal team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will provide top-notch legal counsel on various employment, workplace relations, and anti-discrimination issues. As the primary legal advisor for the employment law compliance program, you will collaborate closely with different departments within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offering legal guidance in line with relevant laws and company policies
  • Informing the leadership team about employment law changes and workplace legislation updates
  • Providing legal support on safety issues to relevant business units
  • Advising on wage-related concerns and new payroll system implementations
  • Delivering training on employment law topics

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years PQE from a major corporation or reputable law firm
  • Strong background in employment law
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation abilities
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
  • Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Proven track record of managing deadlines and focusing on client needs
