About the Agency


The Service Design and Improvement Branch is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve internal service delivery processes and systems to provide better experiences for participants.

The branch aims to improve the participant experience by identifying process improvements, then designing and delivering solutions to make improvements.

The branch works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create and implement solutions that simplify processes, improve timelines and the quality of outcomes for participants.

The branch designs the elements that deliver the strategic vision of the NDIS Pathway.

It works to improve the consistency and equity of Agency decisions and ensures the Scheme is aligned with insurance principles for future sustainability.


About the Role

The position is an important team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.

The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.


The EL1 Assistant Product Owner will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the branch functions.

The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.


The position is required to coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency's objectives.


Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Working within an agile design squad, utilising the varied skills within the cross-functional team to achieve the team's objectives and goal.
  • Leading the end to end delivery of projects through the design and build phases.
  • Supporting Product Owner in presenting outputs and documentation for approval.
  • Ensuring design & build priorities are clear, delivered and Product Owners are aware of risks.
  • Defining requirements to support development of artefacts and user stories.
  • Providing context of key design & build considerations while supporting and enabling teams.
  • Facilitating stakeholder sessions and showcases with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring product is fitforpurpose for both participants and internal end users.

Accountabilities

  • Delivering on the NDIA's PACE (Salesforce based) initiative and increasing the automation and onsystem activity in support of Participant Service Improvement Plan.
  • Supporting the business in adopting solutions and increasing efficiency to complete tasks.
  • Clearly defining requirements for the PACE (Salesforce based) CRM components of the desired Participant and Provider experiences.
  • Providing Product Ownership to support business system and processes.
