About the Role

Victoria 2026 is looking for a passionate individual to use their well-honed Government policy skills in a unique and fast-paced environment to join our team as Principal Policy Officer.

This is an exciting role responsible for ensuring the Victoria 2026 Organising Committee (OC) maintains exceptional information sharing practices with key Government stakeholders, including keeping Ministers updated, the Commonwealth Games Committee of Cabinet informed and, where needed, ensuring other standard Government processes are followed.


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to adjust your approach in line with changing priorities, open to acquiring and developing skills and knowledge, and adapt to new ways of working.
  • Conceptual thinking and sound analytical approaches to support decision making by identifying patterns and relationships in complex systems and communicating them in clear ways.
  • A national and global perspective, considering opportunities, risks, leading practices and technological advancements to enrich the quality of policies and services developed.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate and develop members across the team, promoting a respectful and engaged workforce.
