We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Medicine in the School of Medicine which is part of the College of Health and Medicine
.



The Opportunity
The (Senior) Lecturer in Medicine will have an important role in medical education for the MBBS degree.

The appointee will be primarily involved in the co-ordination and oversight of clinical teaching and assessment in Year 3 in the Medicine rotation.

This will be associated with a contribution to relevant areas of the School's curriculum development and research activities.

The appointee will be required to undertake administrative duties within the School of Medicine, particularly with respect to Year 3 Medicine Rotation.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Make a strong and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Undertake highquality research of national and increasingly of international standing, secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings and successfully supervise research higher degree students to completion, in order to meet and regularly exceed the University's research performance expectations for Level B or C.
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate (and if relevant postgraduate) coursework teaching of an exemplary quality.
  • Increasingly provide academic leadership, particularly in fostering outstanding research and/or learning and teaching.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider community.

Your Application

  • Completion of recognised primary medical qualification, including specialty training as a Physician, together with postgraduate teaching or research qualifications, or equivalent, permitting registration in the State of Tasmania.
  • A strong record in, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved national and preferably international recognition and made notable contributions to medical education, demonstrated by a record of highquality publications, presentations at conferences and success in securing external competitive and other funding.
  • A record of good contributions to successful research higher degree supervision and completions.
  • Experience and demonstrated achievement in Universitylevel teaching and learning.
  • A record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.
  • Clinical/industry/professional experience relevant to the position.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B / C with a total remuneration package comprising base salary within the range of $105,131 to $144,122 pro-rata plus 17% superannuation.
