First Nations First is pillar one of the Australian Government'sNational Cultural Policy, Revive: a place for every story, a story forevery place. Under Revive we will establish a dedicated FirstNations-led Board to:

  • invest in, create and produce, First Nations worksof scale, with priorities and funding decisions determined by First Nationsleaders,
  • develop a First Nations Creative WorkforceDevelopment Strategy, and
  • promote best practice cultural protocols,self-determination and cultural safety training across arts and culturalorganisations.

First Nations creativity is centralto Australian arts and culture, supported by self-determined decision-making.

This is a transformative time tojoin a dedicated and growing team to make impactful change. This new role expandsthe senior leadership team and reports to the Executive Director.

Director First NationsInvestment and Development

Your extensive subject matterexpertise in First Nations arts and culture paired with team leadership experiencehas you primed to take on the end-to-end delivery of our established andongoing investment and development programs. Through your expert guidance you willensure art form priorities and First Nations protocols are understood and embeddedacross Creative Australia's programs and initiatives.

Inspire and lead

  • Lead a dedicated team to deliver strategicinvestment projects and innovative pilot programs
  • Support long-term resilience and sustainability ofFirst Nations arts and culture through industry development programs, includingleadership, digital and workforce development

Strategic Influence

  • Manage the First Nations board secretariat,attending all meetings and capturing insights to drive agendas and support informdecision making
  • Collaborate extensively with stakeholders providingguidance and sector intelligence to ensure art form priorities are embedded in programs

Cultural advocacy

  • RepresentCreative Australia in-person and online at sector important events
  • Continue the journey of embedding culturalprotocols and communications across Creative Australia to build internalcompetencies
