Early Intervention Case Worker

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
An early intervention family support based program servicing families in the Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown LGAs.

Using a holistic assessment, strengths based, person centred approach to support the child or young person and/or their parent/carer on strategies and goals set by the client child/young person or parent/carer to enhance well-being, mental health and address issues before they escalate.


MAIN DUTIES

  • Provide early intervention, short and long term case management support, for children, young people and their families.
  • Work within a clientcentred, traumainformed framework that is culturally appropriate.
  • Facilitate Child and Youth focused, nonclinical, evidencebased groups in order to develop capacity, educate, help identify and provide strategies around mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide engagement services and develop partnerships with stakeholders to reach difficult to access families
  • Contribute to the development, continuous quality improvement and evaluation of family support strategies with children and young people by keeping up to date on research and best practice and participating in supervision

ESSENTIAL

  • Degree level qualifications in the areas of Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Health or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and/or young people with demonstrated knowledge of child protection and/or child and family issues, particularly in an early intervention context.
  • Practical experience in providing group work to children and young people.
  • Experience in the delivery of early intervention supports to culturally and linguistically diverse communities and an understanding of the diverse needs of clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence, current and verified Working with Children Check and National Police Check and adherence to our Vaccination Policy
