The tax team plays a key role at Transurban. They navigate the complexities of the Australian tax system to provide advice and technical expertise to our business. Reporting to the Head of Tax, be an integral member of the tax team.

The core focus of the role is to provide technical tax advice and support the business across various matters, including projects, financing, restructures and tax compliance.

The impact you'll have- You'll be involved in delivering on tax compliance and reporting requirements for a portfolio of entities, gaining experience across various business areas and tax matters- You'll collaborate with the broader business outside the tax function to achieve desired business outcomes- You'll undertake research and prepare tax technical papers for internal review- You'll understand and be able to explain tax related implications and technical terms to non-tax technical stakeholders- You'll work with an experienced team to evolve the tax function through identifying areas for increased efficiency through the use of technology.

  • You'll join us having grown your career in the tax or business services team in a Big 4 or midtier chartered accounting firm, having had exposure to large corporate clients. Alternatively, you have had experience in a similar role in an inhouse tax function.
  • Having focussed on your selfdevelopment, you will be CA/CPA or TIA qualified, or in the process of qualifying.
  • You'll have strong tax technical knowledge and experience with tax compliance and tax effect accounting reporting. Demonstrated exposure or experience to CCH Integrator is highly favourable.
  • Experience in any areas of transfer pricing, GST, FBT and other indirect taxes will be well regarded.
  • A natural problem solver and people person, you'll communicate well with colleagues and stakeholders and will contribute to a strong team culture.
  • Juggling multiple priorities concurrently is your niche, you do this with ease and know how to ensure everyone has everything they need, and on time.
  • You are naturally inquisitive and enjoy complexity you want to understand our business and ensure our stakeholders have reliable tax information in making decisions.
