The Tax team reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the tax management process across the entire Optus group

The position is a key role within the tax team, delivering tax compliance and meeting reporting obligations, as well as providing specialist tax advice to ensure adequate and proactive responses to business opportunities and management of tax risk.

The position will include exposure to a variety of tax issues across Income Tax, FBT, GST, and various State and International taxes as needed across the team.


This position involves building strong collaboration with other corporate functional areas as well as Optus business units, therefore excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical.


It starts with you

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting with CA or CPA qualification advantageous
  • 2 years Tax experience in Big 4 or Mid tier Accounting firm, or large corporate highly regarded
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts as well as tax effect accounting
  • Previous SAP experience and experience with specific tax technology will be highly regarded such as CCH and FBTO, as well as strong excel skills. Experience with data tools such as Power BI and Alteryx an advantage.
