Your future role:


Are you passionate about creating a safe and healthy work environment? Alstom is seeking a dedicated individual to fulfill the role of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator with a rail, infrastructure or heavy industrial construction delivery background to join our team in Dandenong in a 12-month fixed term contract.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining procedures and tools specific aligning with our Transport and EHS Management System.


We'll look to you for:

  • Deploying and maintain procedures and tools tailored for our EHS Management System, ensuring alignment with legislative and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in Alstom's EHS & Safety audits and accreditation program.
  • Coordinate and monitor compliance, and practices of Contractors.
  • Conducting comprehensive EHS risk assessments and define appropriate measures to control risks effectively.
  • Supporting with the preventing accidents and incidents in the workplace, and in the event of occurrences, diligently write thorough reports, record incidents, and oversee comprehensive investigations.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of the site, while actively monitoring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implementing and overseeing training plan and program to enhance awareness and compliance across the organisation.
  • Ensuring the Safety Management System is consistently wellmaintained and in strict adherence to required standards.
  • Reviewing and testing various emergency plans, delivering comprehensive safety induction training to all personnel.

About you:

  • Cert IV or Diploma in Health & Safety Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience in managing contractor EHS compliance in a highrisk construction environment.
  • Rail, infrastructure or heavy industrial construction project experience in a similar role.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Australian legislative and regulatory health and safety requirements.
  • Initiative, drive and resilience along with the ability to influence people at all levels of an organisation
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and implementation of risk control measures.
  • Strong analytical skills for incident investigation and analysis.
  • Excellent recordkeeping and documentation skills with a keen eye for compliance monitoring.
