Your role
As an Aboriginal Reintegration Officer, you will provide cultural advice and coordination to prepare Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander inmates for reintegration.
Coordinate services and conferences for culturally sensitive exit planning and improved community connections pre and post release in line with CSNSW mission of reduction of re-offending.

The team is excited to welcome Aboriginal members with great cultural knowledge and/or experiences to help make a difference and improve the lives of the diverse communities we work with.
- Guiding Aboriginal inmates eligible for release and supporting them postrelease.
- Collaborating with custodial and community CSNSW staff to support successful reintegration.
- Liaising with Aboriginal communities and promoting Community Corrections goals.
- Providing advice in the development of cultural case plans and collaborating with agencies to support offenders after release.
- Coordinating case and family conferencing for a holistic, collaborative approach, with appropriate cultural considerations.

- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal offenders in the criminal justice system
- Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and demonstrate a strong commitment to improving their own cultural competence
- Ability to work in a challenging environment while being culturally sensitive
