The position of the Driver Trainer provides specialised training, assessment and coaching for Team Global Express drivers in all relevant aspects of their duties including, but not limited to, induction & on boarding, legislative requirements & Team Global Express procedures.


The position plays a key role in the ongoing training and development of drivers to increase service quality and manage the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and the environment, as well as meeting customer contractual requirements.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop quality driver training materials in line with TGE Operations Training.
  • Plan and coordinate training requirements and activities
- annual forward planning and monthly requirements.
  • Deliver agreed training, assessments, and approaches.
  • Complete inductions for all new drivers (permanent / casual / outside hire)
  • Manage driver training matrix to ensure all required / upcoming inductions are completed
  • Train required drivers in IAP / Mass, and manage drivers not complying
  • Train all driver in TED / MDT usage, and manage to ensure all drivers are completing as required

Skills essential to the job:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment (desired) or 3+ years' experience in being a Trainer and Assessor
  • Skilled and competent driver/MHE operator
  • Knowledge of HV mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint, road transport rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of Transport systems and management
  • Minimum intermediate level use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Coaching skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and deal with multiple activities simultaneously
