Director of Nursing and Midwifery (Gladstone)Gladstone Hospital is an 88-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.


About the role:

The Director of Nursing and Midwifery is a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife who works within an expansive and/or complex heath service environment.

Classification may include but is not limited to: Responsibility for a cohort of staff directly reporting too.
Working in geographically diverse environments and complex population demographics.
Responsibility for a designated portfolio and context expertise and/or service line accountability.

Exercising advanced clinical, management leadership and/or specific portfolio expertise, experience and aptitude to provide highly developed corporate support to optimise nursing/midwifery practice and services.

Take a lead role in Nursing/Midwifery across the Gladstone Banana and be an integral part of the Gladstone senior leadership team and in collaboration with the Rural Directors of Nursing.

The role will provide leadership across clinical governance domains and ensure all recommendations from previous reviews are embedded and we build a culture of positive patient and staff experience.


About you:

Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (dual registration – Nurse and Midwife) is mandatory for this role.

Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing/midwifery theory and practice.

Demonstrates expertise in leadership and management capability through the expressed knowledge of team engagement and human, financial and material resource management principles applicable to operational planning, coordination and evaluation of services.

Provides high standards of service delivery; provides service users with a positive perception of the work area by establishing and building effective and respectful collegial client relationships; employs win/win negotiating skills to avoid conflict in the workplace and strives to understand the issues, motives and objectives of others to enhance cooperative workplace interactions; and voluntarily contributes to tasks that affect the performance of the whole area.


What we offer:
Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $198,959 p.a.

A fortnightly salary of $174,378 p.a.12.75% employer superannuation contribution17.
