About the role

The Pastoral Care Manager is responsible for the management, oversight and support of our Home Care Pastoral Care team who deliver emotional and spiritual care to Hammond Care at Home clients and Seniors Supported Living Residents, their families, staff and volunteers.

Direct support of clients and staff may also be required depending on staffing and service needs.

This is a permanent part-time role working 22.8 hours per week either 3 days per week or shorter hours across 4 days.

As this role is managing a team across multiple locations there is flexibility to be based either at St Leonards, Central Coast, Hammondville or Miranda.

This role will require travel to Western Sydney, South West Sydney and Central Coast (minimal) therefore your own car with comprehensive insurance is imperative (mileage will be reimbursed).


Responsibilities:
Ensure the effective provision of pastoral care delivery by Pastoral Care Coordinators to clients, their families, staff and volunteers of Hammond Care
Provide administrative support and management supervision/ leadership to a team of pastoral care coordinators
Act as role models for Pastoral Care Coordinators and staff and as an advocate for the Hammond Care Motivation, Mission and Mission in Action
Share pastoral expertise and coach staff and pastoral care volunteers to support the emotional and spiritual needs and goals of the clients

Regularly meet/ liaise with Heads of Region and Area/Village Managers for the purpose of receiving feedback, identifying need, and reporting back on any changes or developments in the Pastoral Care service
As required, assess client/family's spiritual and emotional needs and develop a spiritual care plan, to ensure their spiritual needs are acknowledged and documented
As required, provide spiritual and emotional support to clients and their families

Work with direct reports to extend their skills in meeting the spiritual needs of clients/ residents, including identifying suitable learning and development opportunities.

Train staff and volunteers in areas related to pastoral care, including boundaries, grief and loss, faith and hope, and other areas as identified in conjunction with key stakeholders
Assist with the development of Pastoral Care Volunteers and their integration in delivery of pastoral care
Provide prayerful spiritual/emotional support to staff and volunteers, and distribute relevant material, articles and books, as appropriate
Participate in opportunities such as staff meetings, in-services, expos, and other events with the purpose of providing information about pastoral care opportunities and creating partnerships

About you

Commitment to engage and align with Hammond Care's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
Strong understanding and experience of people living at home with life-limiting illness including dementia, the impact on carers, and journeys of grief and bereavement
Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement
Theological /Pastoral Care qualifications and experience
Demonstrated leadership capacity and experience in leading a pastoral care team including ensuring effective service delivery
Demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need
Highly developed communication skills including listening, compassion and empathy
Experience raising up, leading and supporting a team of pastoral care volunteers
Strong administrative and computer skills
Demonstrated ability to relate to people from all faiths, backgrounds and cultures.
