Employment Type: Permanent Part Time
Hours per week: 30 hours (plus weekend work and on call as per roster requirements)
Position Grade: Pharmacist, Grade 1/ 2 (Year 1-5)
Salary: $77,790.72 to $115, pro-rata) base salary per annum

About the role:

The Specialist Pharmacist Prescription Medicines and Drugs of Addiction (PANDA Unit), is a specialist clinical role who is a member of both the Pharmacy clinical team and the SVHS PANDA multi-disciplinary team.

The Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit Pharmacist is responsible for provision of pharmaceutical care to patients of St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, primarily to patients admitted to the PANDA six bed ward, in accordance with Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Standards of Clinical Pharmacy Practice and local SVHNS Policies and Procedures.

The main focus of the position is to work as part of the St Vincent's PANDA Service multi-disciplinary team and support the Pharmacy Department to promote patient well-being, reduce the harm resulting from the use of alcohol, other drugs and promote the quality use of medicines.

The Specialist Pharmacist Prescription Medicines and Drugs of Addiction (PANDA Unit) is part of the wider SVHS pharmacy department who strive to uphold the SVHA Mission and Values through their dedication to patient care and focus on professional development and research

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Pharmacist who possess a passion for person centred care in the area of Drug and Alcohol or Mental Health.

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
2. Cur r e n t P h a r m a c y Re g i s tr a t i on w i t h A H P R A with no scope on conditions of practice, able to meet the criteria set out in the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award for a Pharmacist, a n d a b i l i t y to pr o v i de wee k e n d a nd o n -c a l l o u t o f h o urs s er vi c e as p e r r o s ter.

3. Experience and a demonstrated high level of performance, competence, expertise, skill and application of clinical judgment in the provision of Drug and Alcohol or Mental Health clinical services including relevant governance and regulatory requirements.

4. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with other health professionals, Clinical Trials monitors and patients.

5. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team and fostering a positive workplace culture.

6. Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, excellent organisational and time management skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy in undertaking all tasks.

7. Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
