About the role

Newcastle Private Hospital is currently seeking professional customer focused Supply Officer's to join their busy team of professionals on a casual basis.
Reporting directly to the Supply Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with the supply management of the hospital, focusing on operating theatres with involvement in wards and other areas within the hospital. The role also includes handling supply & imprest queries, as well as general logistics duties. It is a hands-on position that requires a high level of physical work.

Join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189-bed acute private hospital co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. With 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit, we offer specialized care. Our facilities also include a cardiac suite with a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. Additionally, a private maternity suite and a private Oncology Centre provide specialty care for cancer patients and families in the Newcastle region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer/patient service by replenishing hospital imprest areas
  • Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team that promotes a positive team culture, communicates effectively, offers help, and liaises with other staff when needed to create a difference-making experience.
  • Demonstrate professional practice by adhering to Healthscope's policies, processes, and code of conduct.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Support Healthscope's safety, quality improvement, and accreditation goals by actively participating in meetings, audits, and quality activities.
  • Ensure compliance with National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with a computerized purchasing system, such as Technology One
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work within a set financial budget
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Proven time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team setting
  • Knowledge of medical products (desired)
