About the Team

We are a dynamic team of experienced market facing A&H underwriters managing portfolios whilst strategically identifying growth opportunities.

The role reports to the Southern Region Manager and SME Segment lead underwriting risks across the entire suite of A&H products.

The A&H business is a significant financial contributor to the wider Australian business and rounds out many multi line accounts.

About the role


Working closely with the Southern Regional Manager, managing all aspects of a designated A&H broker portfolio including underwriting, profitability, budgeting, renewal strategy, distribution strategy, contractual obligations and product development.

Ideally possessing A&H market experience to be able to underwrite and manage large/complex Corporate Travel, Group Personal Accident and Expat/Inpat accounts.


Achieve new business, retention, and loss ratio targets by establishing strategic targeted marketing and cross marketing objectives and broker action plans.


What you need to know:

  • Working closely with the Southern Regional Manager, to manage all aspects of a designated A&H broker portfolio including underwriting, profitability, budgeting, renewal strategy, distribution strategy, contractual obligations and product development.
  • Underwrite and manage large/complex Corporate Travel, Group Personal Accident and Expat/Inpat accounts.

  • Increase market share through visitation and improved relationships with key internal/external partners
  • Takes an active role in building the infrastructure, workflow, strategies and processes to support the A&H department.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and someone that thrives in a team environment, is proactive and solutions driven.
  • Strong account management skills with a proven track record of developing solid internal and external customer relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior presentation, organisational and analytical skills
  • Sound understanding of insurance industry and underwriting
  • The skills to source, analyse and implement new distribution channels
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
