Experienced Deli assistant / all Rounder

Amici Deli and Espresso bar Chermside.
We are a boutique Italian Delicatessen and Café and have been established in Chermside for 13 years.

We have in house and outside alfresco dining areas suitable for 50 customers, serving both Gourmet deli products, amazing menu breakfasts, lunches and a variety of Italian sweets as well as our premium coffees blends and teas 6 days a week Tuesday - Sunday from 7.00 am -4.00 pm.

We do also anticipate a high degree of presentation in preparing and serving customers.

The second half of this position requires an appreciation of deli products, knowledge and expertise along with a willingness to learn about our products.

We are primarily a gourmet delicatessen and Cafe business with a dedication to quality service and products and originality

- customer service:1-2 years

- deli experience 1-2 years minimum mandatory

We are seeking an enthusiastic Deli Assistant who possesses the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

• Highly motivated with excellent customer service and communication skills
• Previous Deli experience with good knowledge of cold meats and cheeses
• Very good understanding about Safe Food and Health regulations
• Working in a team environment with active listening skills to follow instructions
• Qualities of enthusiasm, hardworking, reliability and responsibility
• Flexibility across all trading hours of a 6day roster, including weekends
• Must speak fluent English
• Own reliable transport

Some duties and responsibilities will include:

• Stock filling
• Slicing and packaging products
• Rotation of stock in Cool Room & Fridges
• Setting up and closing the deli display and fridges

Great customer service presence, great smile, presentable and have a happy demeanor.

• Must be able to communicate in English fluently and effectively and build rapport with both new and regular customers.

• Quick on your feet and have common sense.
• Must not be afraid to get their hands dirty wash dishes etc
• Live locally/ must have own transport and willing to commute.

• Able to provide quick, effective and friendly service.
• Experienced in a table service environment is a plus

The role includes but not limited to, serving customers, clearing tables, taking orders, helping out with dishes, utilizing EFTPOS and cash registers.
