This role would suit an experienced Researcher looking to make a move into a Non-research career pathway who wants to have an impact across the Institute's laboratory research environment.

Core Services has a great record of providing career opportunities and advancement throughout the Institute. In this role you will gain experience in skills including Project Management, compliance, procurement, and research integrity. You will also gain exposure to Quality Management principles and practice.

As our Research Support Officer your purpose will be to:

  • Assist the Research Support team in various aspects of the management of laboratories within CCI;
  • Support high quality research through a strong focus on technical competency and training, procurement, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Biosafety and ethics compliance;
  • Implement projects and support daytoday operation of the CCI PC2 laboratories;
  • Role model behaviours that positively reflect the Institute's Code of Conduct, Research Code of Conduct and all relevant WHS policies and procedures.

To succeed you will have

  • Significant experience working within a medical research laboratory (minimum 3 years) and advanced Technical Skills in medical research techniques
  • Knowledge of PC2 requirements, WH&S in a laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of research laboratory operations and procurement
  • Superior problemsolving skills: Ability to take the initiative and make decisions; analyses, interprets and facilitates the resolution of issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
